Facing your failures

As a tennis player, there are some matches that I win and some matches that I lose. I succeed in winning at some and fail to win at others. Failure is a part of life. It is in those moments of failure and defeat that I have learned many valuable lessons. Failure will either break us or it will build us. Whether it breaks us or builds us is entirely up to us.

The great Michael Jordan said this:

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life.”

Yet, he never gave up. Even when he missed shots, he still picked himself back up and kept going. You and I must do the same.

Our hope and faith is in God who never fails. Even when we fail, we can look to Him and keep on keeping on.

Psalm 62:6 says:

“Truly He is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”

Do not let failure shake you. Do not let the fear of failure keep you from trying. You only really truly lose, when you decide not to even try. Also, I would ask you to keep something in mind. It is not about you and your talents and your strengths. It is not about how big and strong and mighty you are, but about how strong and mighty your God is. Stop relying on your own strength to get the job done and start relying on His divine power.

God will never let you down. Keep looking to Him and trusting Him always. He will always see you through. Face your failures and keep pressing on! I love you all. Have a blessed day!
