Stronger together

You and I were never meant to walk alone. We were designed and created for relationships. Unfortunately, however, we live in a day and time where despite how connected we are through social media, we have never been more isolated from each other. It’s just a fact. Let’s set aside the fact that we are having to social distance and quarantine for a moment. Social media has been a double-edged sword. We are so connected technologically but there is a great distance. For example, two people can be in one room sitting right next to one another and yet be a million miles away from each other due to being glued to their phones.

This post is not about knocking technology. This post is about the reality that Satan, the enemy of our souls, loves isolation. He wants us isolated. He knows that if he can get us alone that we are more vulnerable to his vicious attacks.

1 Peter 5:8 says:

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

Satan wants to devour you and me. The roaring lion knows that he has a much better shot at devouring the prey that is alone, that is isolated. We must be careful to avoid any opportunities where Satan can get us all alone, isolated from everything and everyone. God meant for us to do this life together. We are stronger together. We live in such an age of division. Our nation is so polarized and divided but we as the Body of Christ can set the example in working together and getting back to a place of unity and cohesiveness.
